Our Team
Lead by Ashgrove Spa’s founder, Marika Pelyvas, who is herself an internationally-trained esthetician, our team includes health and wellness professionals from Europe, Asia, the Middle East and right here in Ontario. As varied as their backgrounds, they each have been chosen for their skills and accomplishments in a variety disciplines, including esthetics, massage therapy, and electrology. It all combines to create the ultimate Day-Spa experience.
Kasia
Professional Esthetician, Electrologist, Laser Technician
Born and raised in Poland, graduated from Teacher’s College in 1984. Kasia moved to Toronto and became an Esthetician from Skin Care Academy in Richmond Hill in 1999 with a diploma in esthetics and electrology and she has been with the Ashgrove team since. She has a wide variety of teaching experience with the Skin Care Academy, but her love for her clients stands the test of time. Kasia’s passion and drive has nurtured many Ashgrove clients throughout the last 18 years. Kasia also performs laser treatments for hair removal and skin rejuvenation.
Being a mother of two boys and a family dog keeps Kasia very busy, but she makes time for travel, reading, music and good food.
Selena
Professional Esthetician, Electrologist, Laser Technician
Selena was born in the beautiful country of Iran and speaks Farsi and English. Selena’s philosophy is that loving the way you look plays an integral role in one’s confidence and positive attitude.
She started her pursuit of esthetics by taking a course in Yorkville at Marvell Beauty School and first worked in a spa downtown. She joined Ashgrove Spa’s team in 2003 where she’s been ever since. Selena enjoys every minute of working with our Ashgrove clients. “Being in a tranquil environment like Ashgrove with my lovely colleagues makes serving our loyal guests so enjoyable and rewarding.”
Selena has a beautiful daughter and son, loves fitness, dancing and she enjoys cooking and entertaining.
Andrea
Professional Esthetician
Andrea graduated from both the Esthetics Program at Zahava School of Esthetics in 2000 and Medical Esthetics at Byron College in 2016. She aims at ensuring every guest has a relaxing, nurturing, and rejuvenating experience. In her spare time, Andrea enjoys working out, spending time with her dog and cooking with her husband.
Claudia
Professional Esthetician, Laser Technician
Claudia was born in Romania and moved to Canada with her family in 2001. Always having an interest in youthful vitality drew her to become an esthetician. She studied esthetics at the Toronto School of Esthetics uptown. Claudia joined our team in 2010. She is very passionate about helping people with their esthetic concerns. She’s a master of all; facials and body treatments, threading, waxing, pedicure, nails.
In her free time she enjoys being with her family and is most likely to be found outdoors camping. Her other hobbies include baking (between her and Fatima we have a hard time keeping trim!), cooking, spending time with her two children, doing Zumba, running and traveling.
Nit-Metta Wong
Professional Esthetician, Nail Technician
Nit is a graduate of the Protégé School of Esthetics and recently completed an Ayurvedic Head Massage Certification. Born in Thailand, she is fluent in English and Thai.
In her free time, Nit enjoys cooking and entertaining her friends and family.

Clara Wong
Registered Massage Therapist
Clara started her career as a professional esthetician first and decided to continue her education; graduated as a massage therapist in 2012 from Wellspring College in Markham. Clara provides Swedish, relaxation, deep tissue as well as pre and postnatal and infant, hot stone, aromatherapy, trigger point and myofascial release, sports injuries, hot/cold therapy. Clara’s massage incorporates healing for both body and mind.
