You can’t be blamed if you’ve never heard of microneedling. It’s a relatively new treatment method that’s only been around for about 20 years.
What is Microneedling?
First used in 1995, microneedling is the insertion of micro-fine needles just a short way into the skin. Invented by scientist Horst Liebl, the first microneedling device was the derma roller, which allowed the needles to be inserted as the instrument was rolled over the area of skin being treated.
More recently, Liebl developed the ACS-PEN (advanced cell stimulation), which is widely considered to be the leading microneedling technology.
If the thought of needles strikes fear in your heart, you can relax. Microneedling with the ACS-PEN is a pain-free treatment.
What are the Benefits of Microneedling?
Simply put, microneedling helps rejuvenate your skin and reverse the effects of a number of skin conditions. When your skin is treated with the ACS-PEN, the production of collagen and elastin is stimulated. They are the proteins in your body that give your skin strength and elasticity. It also helps promote the formation of keratinocytes, which are the cells that form the outer layer of your skin.
Increased collagen levels and keratinocyte production helps improve many skin conditions.
New layers of of stronger, more elastic skin can reduce the appearance of wrinkles.
Hyperpigmentation results in spots of your skin that are darker than the surrounding skin, including conditions like age spots, freckles and melasma (large areas of dark skin).
Eczema, Rosacea and Acne
Among other conditions, microneedling treatments have been shown to reduce eczema, rosacea and acne.
Why not see for yourself?
