Even for regular spa visitors, occasional questions pop up about how you should prepare for a visit, what to expect if you’re getting a new treatment or something that happened last time that hadn’t happened before.
Whatever the case, your spa visit shouldn’t be at all stressful or uncomfortable and we thought we’d give you the answers to some common spa questions that people are sometimes afraid to ask.
How Nude Should I Be?
You’ll keep your undergarment on and will be covered all time during your treatment and better able to enjoy the massage. Also, RMTs are trained in proper draping techniques and they uncover body areas only where their working so you don’t have to worry about getting more exposure than you’d like.
If I’m Getting a Facial, Do I Need to Not Have Makeup on When I Visit?
You’ll get more actual treatment time if your aesthetician doesn’t need to spend time to remove heavy makeup, but don’t avoid a trip to the spa because you’re wearing makeup. Either way, your skin will be softer and smoother at the end of the treatment than it was when you arrived.
Should I Shave Before a Massage?
It’s not necessary to shave before a massage treatment. But, if you’re planning on also getting facial treatments, shaving helps.
What if fall Asleep During the Treatment?
That’s fantastic! If you are so comfortable and relaxed during a massage or facial treatment that you actually fall asleep, then your therapist will have accomplished a big part of her job.
Is it Rude that My Stomach Gurgles During Treatment?
Not at all. Similar to falling asleep, stomach gurgling is a sign that you are in a “rest and relax” state, which is one of the main goals of your visit.
Don’t Worry. Generally speaking, you have nothing to worry about when you visit the spa. Your therapist, aesthetician and/or attendant will help you with anything you need and answer all your questions. In the end, when you visit a spa, you are treating yourself, so it’s not about living up to our expectations, but about what we can do to make your visit more enjoyable
